Singer and Songwriter Bob Dylan, born as Robert Allen Zimmerman in Minnesota, continues to intrigue and arouse the public imagination. The Oscar-nominated movie, “A Complete Unknown,” about the beginning of his career was recently in theaters, and he is still actively touring today at age 83. Throughout his 60+ year career, Dylan has let his music do the talking for him. This morning, through Dylan’s lyrics, the speech choir will explore why he was considered a prophetic voice of his generation and how he plumbed the depths of human experience to write touching love songs. Rev. Robin will preach a homily on the theology and spirituality of Dylan’s message, we’ll sing some well-known Dylan anthems, and we’ll share the words of his listeners, as no art is complete until it is received.
Rev. Robin Landerman Zucker preaching. Worship Leader Jean Weigant and the Speech Choir, under the direction of Charlene Woods. Music from Mary Reese and a Time for All Ages from Tara Toler.
