Love is the Enduring Force That Holds Us Together

What does it mean to evolve as a religion in the modern world? For the past several years, the UUA has drafted revisions to Article II, which recasts our long-held Seven Principles and Six Sources as “Purposes and Covenants” such as Justice, Interdependence and Generosity. The document includes the phrase: “Love is the Enduring Force That Holds Us Together.” For the first time, these overarching values within our progressive denomination include the words “beloved communities.” Delegates at this year’s General Assembly will vote on whether to accept these revisions. How might this new framework for Unitarian Universalism support and transform us in our individual spiritual journeys and as a congregation? What are the controversies and disagreements regarding these revisions to Article II? Rev. Robin Landerman Zucker, preaching with Worship Leader Jan Apland-Curtis. Music from Mary Reese and a Time for all Ages from Tara Toler. A Spirited Conversation on the topic will follow the service.
