Hike Among the Spring Flowers in the Columbia Gorge!

On Wednesday, April 30 the Eastrose hikers will be visiting the Tom McCall Preserve near Mosier. The area is famous for its beautiful and abundant spring flowers, which are different every month. We meet at Eastrose to carpool, and leave there at 8:30am, to make our way east down Interstate 5 to the Mosier exit, past Hood River. We will park at spectacular Rowena Crest Viewpoint then hike the Tom McCall Point Trail. Round trip is 3.4 miles, with an elevation gain of 1,070 feet. Hiking boots, water, sunscreen strongly recommended. Lunch will be back in Mosier at La Vaquita Taquería food cart with option of coffee and/or pastries across the street at Randonnée Coffee Co. Group organizer: Eric Tschuy.

See Eastrose’s calendar for more dates.

We’ll meet at the Powell Butte parking area at 9am on Wednesday, April 23. We will walk the Orchard-Cedar Grove loop trail. It is rated an easy hike 3.6 miles in length with a 521 ft elevation change. Please let Jan A. know if you plan to attend by the day before.
