On Wednesday, February 8, we’ll do a 3-mile loop through Tyron Creek State Natural Area. It’s moderately challenging with rolling trails, varying from 50′ to 300′ of elevation. The trails are well-maintained, but muddy. Shorter, easier trail options are also available.
There should be abundant wildlife, birds and seasonal wildflowers. Binoculars and nature guides may be in order. The park has a nature center, water, toilets, viewing decks, benches, and a pavilion.
We’ll carpool from Eastrose, departing at 9:00am. Lunch in the area at a local eatery afterwards is optional. 11321 SW Terwilliger Blvd, southwest of Lewis & Clark College; 15 min. from downtown Portland. Trail guide at the following link: Tyron Creek.
Contact Larry by Tuesday, Feb. 7th to RSVP and/or get further details.
