A Unitarian Universalist for 20 years, Katie recently was ordained as a Unitarian Universalist minister. She is interested in what brings diverse people together around a shared goal. In her neighborhood she was involved in the politics of change as a School Board chair for Parkrose School District and as co-chair for a unique community/City of Portland partnership, the East Portland Action Plan (EPAP), which advocates for equity in East Portland and brings together neighbors from all walks of life and ethnic backgrounds. Her employment history is in Industrial Engineering and she has fundraising experience chairing a capital gifts campaign. Most recently, she is Executive Director for the Oregon Unitarian Universalist Voices for Justice. OUUVJ is a statewide advocacy network that mobilizes Unitarian Universalists and their congregations to work for public policies in the state of Oregon that embody our UU principles of justice, equity, compassion in human relations and global stewardship. It is one of fifteen statewide UU advocacy networks nationwide.
